  Cumulative percentage GSA/1 Calculates cumulative percentage retained or passing for sieve sizes expressed in  
      log phi units, mm, '000in, US Standard Sieves and Taylor Equivalent.  
  Grain size data GSA/2 Table to enter sieve size in mm or '000 inch and cumulative percentage retained  
      or passing.  
      Data can be entered for up to 15 sieve sizes per table. Data are plotted automatically  
      on each chart with a smoothed line through the data.  
      Six tables are provided allowing up to six distribution curves on each chart.

       - upper limit of Av based on hydraulic conductivity (Sichardt and Husiman methods)  
      or d40 grain size (Gross method)  
       - screen diameter for given screen length to satisfy Av based on Sichardt, Huisman  
      or Gross methods.  
  Reynolds Number Re HC/2 Calculates Reynolds Number from d50 grain size in metric or US units.  
  Uphole velocity Uv HC/3 Calculates in metric or US units:  
       - minimum diameter of casing or screen required to maintain Uv at <150 cm/s (5 ft/s)  
      for a chosen discharge rate  
       - uphole velocity for a chosen casing internal diameter and discharge rate  
       - maximum discharge rate for a chosen casing diameter for Uv of 150 cm/s (5 ft/s).  
       - uphole head losses.  
      Includes Table of maximum discharge rates in metric or US units for selected  
      diameters of standard-weight casing based on maximum Uv of 150 cm/s (5 ft/s).   
  Open area, Entrance Velocity HC/4 Calculates open area (Ao), entrance velocity (Ev) and transmitting capacity (Tc) in  
  and Transmitting Capacity of   metric or US units of slotted or shutter (louver) screen together with maximum screen  
  slotted and louvered screen   length for Ev and minimum screen diameter for Uv.  
      Includes Tables in metric and US units of recommended pump casing diameters for  
      different discharge rates and for line shaft pumps and recommended Ev for different  
      hydraulic conductivities.  
  Open area, Entrance Velocity HC/5 Calculates open area (Ao), entrance velocity (Ev) and transmitting capacity (Tc) in  
  and Transmitting Capacity of   metric or US units of continuous slot (wire-wrapped) screen together with maximum  
  continuous slot screen   screen length for Ev and minimum screen diameter for Uv.  
      Includes charts of representative open areas for continuous slot screen in  
      metric and US units and Tables of recommended Ev limits for different K values and
