What is
the Well Design Toolkit?
The Well Design Toolkit (v1.2.2)
consists of over 30 Microsoft Excel®
worksheets containing most of the calculations
and supporting charts and tables used in the design of a water well (borehole).
Drop-down menus allow you to choose metric (SI) or US units, different currencies ($, £, Euro), different
casing or screen materials, etc.
The worksheets can be used in
combination to help design a well, estimate its capital and operating costs and prepare a
Bill of Quantities for its construction. Alternatively, you could simply use one or
more of the worksheets to carry out particular calculations. This is why
it is called a 'toolkit' since the user is not
constrained to some pre-set, and perhaps, inappropriate well design procedure. The WDT can be purchased as a .EXE file.
What is the Well Design Guide?
The Well Design Guide is intended to
complement the
Well Design Toolkit by assisting the user to select the appropriate well
design criteria for the site conditions. It includes over
70 pages of technical information including an extensive list of further sources of information on
well design. Available as a PDF e-book.

Can I
adapt the worksheets to my own
requirements?
The WDT is a
protected .EXE file that can only be used on your computer. This means
that only the
data input cells and drop-down menus are unlocked. Consequently you
cannot modify the structure.
However, suggestions for additional workbooks or worksheets are welcome
so that I can extend the capabilities of the WDT to benefit
the groundwater community. New
worksheets and updates will posted on this site.
Is
there a free trial or any discounts for multiple users?
A free trial is not available as this could be used for commercial purposes. If you wish to purchase multiple copies please contact
me to discuss
your requirements. Please note that the WDT will only work on the
computer to which it is downloaded so each user will need to download
and register their own copy.

How do I obtain the registration key for my
Well Design Toolkit?
Please follow the instructions below.
| Registering your
.EXE file(s)
Step 1. Extract the .EXE file(s) from the zipped folder and Run the file. You will then
see a message window with your computer ID number.
Step 2. Copy and paste your computer ID from
the message window into the 'Question/Comment' part of the form on
the Contact
page, add your name, e-mail address
and the subject
line 'Licence key request'
and then submit the form.
Step 3. An e-mail
will then be sent back to you from Well Systems Design containing your
registration key.
Step 4.
Copy the registration key from the return e-mail
into the opening menu. This will activate the file.

What is the Well Design
Guide Activation Key?
To activate your full version of the
Well Design Guide you will be sent an activation key with instructions by e-mail after the purchase is confirmed. Once the key is activated it will show the full version of WDG for
that computer alone.
You can de-activate the e-book in order to transfer it to
another computer but it can only be activated on one computer at a time. If you
copy the e-book onto another computer you will only see the sample e-book but be
given the option to purchase an activation key for that computer.
